 Nematode/Plant Diagnostic Lab

THE NEMATODE/PLANT DIANOSTIC LABORATORY WAS BUILT IN 2017. THIS ADDITION INCLUDED: NEMATODE SAMPLING, REAL-TIME PCR, GENOTYPING LATE BLIGHT AND BUILDING OUR EARLY DIE COMPLEX RISK INDEX FOR POTATOES.OUR PRIMARY FOCUS IS SAMPLING POTATOES, SOYBEANS AND CORN.

APHIS CERTIFICATION TO RECIEVE PLANT TISSUE/SOIL FROM THE ENTIRE CONTINENTAL U.S. WAS OBTAINED IN 2020.

IDEALLY, POTATO GROWERS WILL SAMPLE THEIR FIELDS EVERY TWO WEEKS DURING THE PEAK GROWING SEASON. THIS ALLOWS US TO BUILD A RISK INDEX GRAPHS FOR EACH FIELD TO SEE HOW VERTICILLIUM MAY PROGRESS THROUGH THE SEASON. ALSO ENABLLING OUR CROP-CONSULTANTS TO WATCH FOR POTENTIAL EARLY DIE ISSUES.
